As you might already be aware, following a review the University has decided to withdraw YoYo points from all of our cafes and restaurants. Since April 11 you’ll have been unable to accumulate any more points on your card, but to make sure that everyone is able to use up all of their points you’ll be able to redeem them until Friday 27 July. After this date we’ll be removing all of the card readers and you won’t be able to do anything with your points, or pay for your meals via YoYo.
To make sure that everybody has ample opportunity to use up any points they may have saved up we’ve introduced a number of exciting new offers to use them on.
2,000 points – get a free bacon roll when you buy a hot beverage
3,000 points – cheeseburger and fries
3,000 points – homemade baguette
6,500 points – get a keep cup (and help save the planet)
10,000 points – get a starter in the Bronte Brasserie
So remember – make sure you use up all your points by Friday 27 July, as after that there will be no YoYo in any of our outlets at all.
UPDATED: Catering Management have issued a statement, please see below.
‘After a full review of our payment and loyalty provision we have come to the decision that the current YoYo system does not offer the best level of service and convenience available to our customers. Based on this we have taken the decision to cease points accumulation and set a deadline July 27 for accrued points to be ‘spent’. Customers can also continue to use the YoYo wallet cashless payment system until this date.
We will be reviewing our portfolio of offers next week and expect to introduce a number of attractive further options to redeem points during May. We are also investigating possibilities for a replacement system that we believe will offer much better value and user experience for our customers.’
