First and foremost, when it comes to the 2017 General Election, The University of Hull are strictly impartial, which means we can’t tell you who to vote for. That said, we definitely do want you to take part! So allow us to point you in the direction of some useful un-biased information to help make your decision at the polling station on Thursday 08 June 2017.
Voter registration among students has seen a huge increase in 2017, with 93% of you saying you have registered to vote – a fantastic improvement for the student voice in politics. The important part now is to make sure you use your vote!
If you’re an undecided voter though, it can be hard to know which way to turn and what information to trust. With media channels shouting one thing at you and friends on social media another, it can be enough to make make you dizzy.
So our advice is to take a step back from the pandemonium and spend just 10 to 15 minutes doing an impartial quiz online. You’ll be asked simple questions on important topics, but without the bias of knowing who they relate to. At the end of the quiz you’ll be given a much clearer idea of which manifesto your feelings support the most. We recommend trying out 2-3 different quizzes just to be sure.
See you at the booth!
