On 15 February Hull University Ladies 1s prepared to take on Leeds Beckett 3s in the quarter final of the Northern Conference BUCS cup. Leeds Beckett looked strong in the warm up…. The teams pushed back at Fort Inglemire at 1pm, both hungry to progress though to the semi final. It was a tense first half, but just before half time Hull broke the deadlock with a goal thanks to Ellie Murry.  Hull went into half time 1-0… by no means comfortably winning. Leeds came out strong in the second half, but Hull put in an outstanding shift. Ellie Muarry and Emma Cundy getting two more goals to add to Hull’s tally. The game finished 3-0 in Hull’s favor. Man of the match went to fresher, Erin for dazzling opponents with her silky skills.

In just the same week, Hull University Mens 1s faced Brigg 1s in the Yorkshire cup semi final. This was always going to be a tough ask for Mens 1s as they compete 2 divisions below Brigg who sit unbeaten at the top of Yorkshire prem. The mens team fought tirelessly and manage to progress in the cup with a 3-1 victory.

These incredible success stories now mean, ladies 1s face Durham away in the semi final of the Northern Conference Cup on 01 March. A win will secure them a place in the FINAL! Mens 1’s face Wakefield 3s in the FINAL of the Yorkshire Cup in late April, date and venue to be confirmed.
