Thanks to some much better weather representatives from SIS Pitches were able to carry out an inspection of the site last week and found the pitch wet but much better than previous visits. On a close inspection of the pitch they found the clay has started to dry-out. The intention is therefore to recommence with the ground works on 20 March. The on-site pumps were found to be working well and hopefully the better weather will now continue so as not to cause any further delays to the scheme.

Pitch inspection

Meanwhile, the Pavilion work is continuing at a fantastic rate and almost daily, there are visible changes on-site. The contractors have commenced the blockwork/brickwork as well as completing the drainage to the Pavilion.

This week the contractors will continue with the blockwork/brickwork and begin the surface water drainage to the north elevation of the building, with a view to installing all surface water drainage prior to scaffold being required. Another 80 tonnes of concrete has been delivered along with bricks and blocks, with further deliveries expected throughout this week. We would again ask that all staff and users of the pitches take care whilst accessing the facilities and to report any matters of concern to the staff at reception. More updates and photos to follow but in the meantime here is a snapshot of the progress made in the past week.
