Thursday 09 February 2017 is #NationalPizzaDay! The perfect excuse to dig into something cheesy and tasty (as if you ever needed one). But with today being a celebration of all things pizza, you’ll be wanting to go that extra mile to experience the very best. So forget about the typical Italian and pizza chains you’ll see in every city, head on down to one of Hull’s unique restaurants to pick up an extra special slice (or 10).
EATS Italia – Student Central, Uni of Hull
Available right here on campus, EATS Italia serves fresh pizza to take away or eat in, hot from their very own pizza oven.
Boathouse – Newland Avenue
Boathouse prides itself on serving ‘good old fashioned, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-all-over-you-face-food’. So rather than fine dining, expect a fun relaxed atmosphere with great grub – including thin and crispy Neapolitan pizza, stone-baked with the best imported Italian toppings. What’s more, today and every Thursday is Half Price Pizza Thursday, so why not get double!?
Da Gianni – Princes Ave
Based in one of Hull’s most popular eating and drinking spots, Da Gianni Ristorante and Pizzeria serves the very best stone-baked pizza in a cosy, traditional restaurant setting.
Alessandro’s Italian Bakery – Trinity Market
Aleesandro offers cheap and cheerful pizzas on the go in the centre of town – but that’s not to knock the quality! For around £1.50 you can pick up a hearty pizza from one of the friendliest faces in Hull!
Butler Whites – Humber Street
Part of the incredible regeneration of Humber Street, Butler Whites was one of the first new restaurants to make its mark on Hull’s new cultural hot spot. Based in a stylish renovated warehouse and offering unique sour dough pizzas, this is one to put on your swankiest clobber for.
Pascos – Cottingham
For those of you based in student accommodation in Cottingham, Pascos is a short walk away and an Italian restaurant with over 30 years experience in the industry. What’s more, the pizza is flipping fantastic – we recommend the calzone!
