Paper Chains

  • Paper
  • Glue or tape
  1. Cut some paper strips, roughly 2cm by 12cm.
  2. Loop one of the strips into a circle, make sure the coloured/patterned side is on the outside. Glue or tape the ends together.
  3. Thread another piece of paper through the first loop to make a second loop.
  4. Carry on doing this until the chain is as long as you want!

Paper Baubles

  • Glass or mug
  • Selection of different matching paper
  • Glue
  • String or ribbon
  1. Using the bottom of the glass or mug as a template, cut out 6 circles of paper.
  2. Fold each circle in half.
  3. Take the first circle & stick one half to one half of another circle. Then stick a third circle to the second in the same way.
  4. Attach all 6 circles.
  5. Once you have done this, you should have two un-stuck halves which you can now stick together, pulling the decoration into a circle shape
  6. Add a string or ribbon to hang your bauble.

  • Squares of paper
  • Scissors
  1. Fold your paper diagonally in half, then in half again, then in half again to make a thin triangle of paper.
  2. Make cuts into both sides of the triangles, in whatever pattern you like.
  3. Un-fold the triangle, and you’re done!

Paper Pinwheels

  • Three sheets of paper, each 15cm by 20cm
  • Staples or glue
  • String or ribbon
  1. Fold a sheet of paper back and forth to create a concertina effect all the way along.
  2. Fold the sheet in the middle to create a fan shape, stapling or sticking it into place.
  3. Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the other pieces of paper.
  4. You should now have three fans of paper, attach the edges of the fans to create a circle.
  5. Add string or ribbon to hang your pinwheel.
